SUMMARY:“Ombreta” Meet Up Series – April 2023
DESCRIPTION:Looking forward to seeing you at our monthly Ombreta networking event! \nThis month, we will host as a special guest from Rome, who will be presenting his new book.\nPlease join us as we host a conversation and Q&A time with Paolo Quattrocchi, lawyer and managing partner ADVANT Nctm, VP of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West, Founder & Director of the Italy-Canada Study Center based in Rome.\nWith an autobiographical approach, the book passionately relates the history, politics, and notable and ordinary people of a nation whose citizens “in just 150 years (…) have created a society based on trust and mutual respect for all. They have served as a model for many European countries and a source of hope for the world.”\nRefreshments and networking time to follow.\nLocation: SFU – Morris J Wosk Centre for Dialogue, 580 W Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 5K3, Room: ICBC Concourse (Entrance on Seymour Street)\nPrice: FREE for ICCCWest members, SFU students and staff. RSVP required. Ticket includes a drink and a selection of Italian antipasti.\nThis event is kindly sponsored by the Department of World Languages and Literatures – Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences – Simon Fraser University, the Centro Studi Italy- Canada ( https://www.centrostudi-italiacanada.it/ ) and the Italian chamber of Commerce in Canada West.\nREGISTER HERE\n——-\nAbout the Chamber’s monthly meetup: “Ombreta” is what Venetians call a glass of wine or beer: it literally means “little shadow”, which opens to a double interpretation: you can either drink so little that you can barely see the “shadow” of the liquor in your glass, or you can drink too much… and have rational thinking cast in shadows for some while! \n“Ombreta” is what Venetians drink with friends after work, and it always comes accompanied by some food delicacies. Come join us and network with local professionals and Italian expats!\nWe will be speaking both English and Italian.\n———\nFor more information, e-mail iccbc@iccbc.com or call 604.682.1410 (M/F 9am to 5pm).\n
