The  Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada-West, together with  BC Liquor Stores, is organizing during the month of July another edition of “Flavours of Italy”  in-store promotion in selected BC Liquors Stores.

 

[dropcaps type=’circle’ font_size=” color=” background_color=” border_color=”]2020[/dropcaps]This edition of “Flavours of Italy”  will promote  an exclusive  selection of  wines from Italy’s culinary heart – the Region of Emilia Romagna.

 

The promotion will comprise  special displays featured in 30 selected BC Liquor stores  as well as the advertising in Taste Magazine, on BC Liquor Stores Events webpage, our website and in social media channels.

Lambrusco, Frico Can  – Scarpetta

  • Tasting notes –Aromas of red currant and strawberry with flavours of plum, raspberry and pomegranate.
  • Sangiovese, Rocche Malatestiane – I Diavoli
    • Vintage: 2018
    • Winery: Le Rocche Malatestiane
    • Varietal: Sangiovese
    • Tasting notes – This appealing unoaked Sangiovese is from Emilia-Romagna. The wine is dark red in colour, showing ripe cherry and blackberry fruit on the nose and palate. It is dry, crisp with fine, rounded tannins, and the fruit is ripe but still fresh. Simple, nicely balanced, fruity and appealing, there’s enough structure to work with grilled meats, but it will also pair well with pizza and charcuterie.
  • Lambrusco di Sorbara – Soliera
    • Winery: Soliera
    • Varietal: Lambrusco di Sorbara
    • Tasting notes –Pale pink red. Aromas and flavors of orange peel, jasmine, minerals, and mint. Boasts lovely sugar-acid balance on the tactile but refined mouthfeel. Finishes long with lots of flavor.
  • Albana Romagna – ‘Arlus’  Trere
    • Vintage: 2019
    • Winery: Azienda Agricola Trere S.S. Societa Agri
    • Varietal: Albana
    • Tasting notes– This dry White is made from late-harvest Albana grapes with noble rot. Pairs well with a diversity of first courses, particularly pasta, white fish, and shellfish.
  • Lambrusco Reggiano Frizzante – Labrusca Lini 910

    • Varietal: Lambrusco
    • Tasting notes –Dry and tangy, with ripe black cherry fruit, candied current, balsamic and spice box notes. Enjoy this dry Lambrusco chilled with rustic Italian food like pizza, pasta, antipasti, & charcuterie.
  • Lambrusco Reggiano Frizzante – Medici Ermete

    • Winery:  Medici Ermete
    • Varietal: Lambrusco
    • Tasting notes – The Concerto Lambrusco Reggiano DOC was the first single-vineyard Lambrusco produced and has won 11 Gambero Rosso Three Glass awards in a row.  Intensely brilliant, ruby red in colour with intense nuances of fresh red berries, strawberries, raspberries and cherries.  Dry and fruity, round, lively, clean and fresh with the perfect balance of acidity and tannins.
