Italian Day on The Drive

Now into its seventh year since its return in 2010, Italian Day on The Drive represents the celebration of Italian culture and the contributions made to Vancouver by Italian immigrants and their children. A vibrant cultural street festival, Italian Day is a community driven event, attracting over 300,000 people and spanning 13 blocks along Commercial Drive in a day long celebration, while showcasing all that is Italian to Vancouver’s multi-cultural community of all ages. Like a piazza in full swing in a sea of green, white and red, the street comes alive with Italian musical performances, hands-on activities and games, vendors, patios, food and beverage tastings, street performers, classic vehicle exhibits and so much more.

Join us in celebrating community and Italian heritage on Sunday, June 12 2016, as we gather around the Italian table to celebrate food (Mangiamo! Let’s Eat!), dressed in the spirit of Italian festivity and culture, including music, theatre, fashion, cars, design, activities and more.  As a special feature to the event, we celebrate the official ‘Little Italy’ designation, paying tribute to over 50 years of Italian heritage on Commercial Drive, where 8 blocks will be christened with banners and crosswalks.

The event is organized by the Italian Day Festival Society (IDFS) which includes key collaborating partners: The Commercial Drive Business Society, Il Centro Italian Cultural Centre, Anigraph Productions and Barcelona Media Design.
