VANCOUVER HUNGRY FOR THE EXTRAORDINARY ITALIAN TASTE – Great success for the launch event of the Extraordinary Italian Taste at Sciué Café (Vancouver, May 26th)
The launch event of the project “The Extraordinary Italian Taste” took place on May 26th at Sciué Italian Bakery Caffé. The ICCC wants to say thank you to all the media that took part to the event and to the Consul General of Italy Massimiliano Iacchini. The project’s main goal is to raise awareness and strengthen the presence of the authentic Italian agri-food products in North America through the organization of various initiatives aiming at educating the consumers and agri-food professionals. The partecipants had the pleasure to taste several DOP and IGP products like Aceto balsamico, Asiago, Crudo di Parma, Mortadella, Olio d’Oliva Evo, Olive di Cerignola, Pancetta Coppata, Parmigiano Reggiano, Pomodoro san Marzano, Salame spianata and much more.

THE EXTRAORDINARY ITALIAN TASTE PRESENTED TO THE MEDIA – The first media dinners at three Ospitalita` Italiana certified restaurants.
The Media Dinners organized by the ICCC took place in June in three restaurants that were recently awarded the trademark of Ospitalita’ Italiana: La Quercia, Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill & Enoteca and La Terrazza. Several journalists, bloggers and sommeliers had the pleasure to taste the excellent of the quality of the products utilized by the Chefs, such as Olio Extravergine di Oliva (EVO Oil), Asiago, Aceto Balsamico (Balsamic vinegar), Parmigiano Reggiano DOP, Crudo di Parma and much more. Every courses was presented and explained by the Chefs, in order to raise awareness about the additional value given by a high quality product.

Flavours of Italy 2015 – CAMBIE KITCHEN EVENT
This year’s Italian Chamber’s annual FLAVOURS OF ITALY promotion focuses exclusively on CHIANTI CLASSICO and will feature, during the entire month of October, nine CHIANTI CLASSICO wines displayed in 30 selected BC Liquor Stores throughout British Columbia.
On Friday, October 9th, from 4pm to 6pm we are organizing a CHIANTI CLASSICOtasting at the Cambie Kitchen inside a Signature BC Liquor Store on Cambie and 39th Ave in Vancouver.
Come and delight your palate with 9 fabulous Chianti Classico wines, produced exclusively in the restricted Chianti Classico DOCG production area in Tuscany, and taste delicious Tuscan style antipasti !
The Chianti Classico sub region covers an area of approximate 100 square miles between two famous Tuscan cities, Florence and Siena. To have the right to a denomination and to display the famous black rooster logo, the Chianti Classico DOCG must be produced from grapes grown exclusively in this specific territory and under strict rules and conditions enforced by the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium. One of the rules specifies that along with a minimum of 80% of Sangiovese grape variety, other red grapes of the area can be used in a maximum percentage of 20%.

The Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada – West is executing a series of initiatives to raise awareness for authentic Made in Italy products by highlighting the designations, traceability, quality control, and certifications that true Italian goods must have on their labels. The program is mandated and supported by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
As part of the ‘Extraordinary Italian Taste’ program, we are organizing together the Italian Trade Agency- ICE and Choices Market an in-store promotion of Italian PDO and PGI products in June.
