Emilia–Romagna is known as one of the richest regions of Italy with regards to its gastronomic and wine-making tradition. In celebration of the month of the Italian Heritage, esteemed delegates from the Emilia Romagna region visited Vancouver for a series of face to face networking with Vancouver foodies, private meetings and B2B meetings with importers, food distributors and media from June 3rd to June 6th.

In celebration of June, the Month of Italian Heritage, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Canada West, in collaboration with the Assocamerestero and the Emilia Romagna Region et al, is inviting all food importers and distributors in the region of British Columbia to qualify and be a part of the premier edition of the True Italian Taste Awards 2019 – Emilia Romagna Edition.
Participating restaurants are required to buy Emilia Romagna ingredients or wine for the competition from participating quality approved importers/distributors. They will each receive a $500 coupon to be spent at one qualified importer of choice.

These events will be a great time and an exciting opportunity for all interested in Italian food wine, and culture. To continue to make these events a great success we depend on assistance from interested volunteers.
Volunteers will be the first contact for many of the attendees. Their great role will be to help organize, welcome our local and Italian guests, and foster a spirit of hospitality.

Emilia-Romagna Region is organizing a follow-up agri-food mission included in the Memorandum of Understanding for the realization of integrated projects for the promotion of existing quality products with the Canadian Provinces of Québec and British Columbia.
The mission will be developed with the support of Unioncamere Emilia-Romagna, and it will start from May 27th to June 7th 2019 with two key moments for companies, the first one in Montreal on May 30th and 31st, and the second one in Vancouver on June 3rd and 4th, all within the framework of the True Italian Taste project supported by the Italian Government.
During the mission, both high-level institutional meetings and trade, media and consumer events will be held, aimed at spreading at best the characteristics of the real Emilia-Romagna agri-food product.
