In the first half of 2025 alone, our Chamber has received a record number of inquiries from Canadian exporters, investors, and entrepreneurs seeking insight, introductions, and market intelligence on Italy.

To support this momentum, we’re pleased to share the latest edition of Business Insights from Italy, a monthly economic publication produced by The European House – Ambrosetti in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This high-level briefing offers a concise, data-backed snapshot of the current state of Italy’s economy and investment landscape.

December 2025: Key Insights from Italy

The December 2025 edition of Business Insights from Italy, produced by The European House Ambrosetti, offers a concise snapshot of Italy’s economic direction at a time of global uncertainty. The report highlights modest but resilient GDP growth, record employment levels, moderating inflation, and improving credit conditions, pointing to a more stable environment for investment.

This issue also examines two developments of particular interest to international businesses: the new Codice degli incentivi, which will introduce a unified and simplified framework for business incentives starting January 2026, and the continued growth of Italy’s Blue Economy, a sector that now accounts for more than 11 percent of national GDP.

Together, these insights underline Italy’s focus on reform, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness, offering relevant signals for Canadian companies exploring opportunities in Europe.

Passing of Corrado Paina – ICCO Executive Director

It’s with great sadness that we pass along news of the loss of a much-respected leader in the Italian-Canadian community and devoted champion of Italian culture. Corrado Paina, longtime Executive Director of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Ontario has passed away in hospital.

In addition to being a respected businessman and community leader, Corrado was also an accomplished writer and artist. He received the “Menzione civica – Ambrogino d’oro” award from the City of Milan for his work twinning the cities of Toronto and Milan. In 2016 he was been appointed Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy.

The ICCCW Board of Directors and our Team extend our deepest condolences to Corrado’s family and our friends at the ICCO.
